Announcements

Dear Valued Customers,

Maeda Sushi Restaurant closed its doors for good after dinner operation on Sunday, June 28th.  We thank you for your patronage, your encouragements, and your company.  Since opening in midst of snow storms in December, 2007, for 18 months, we had the honor and pleasure of serving you.  For that we will forever be grateful.  Thank you.  As for the future, we are currently looking for new opportunities in the Greater Hartford area.  We would love to send announcements to you when we are ready; if you are not already on our mailing list and want to know about our new ventures, please write to maedasushi@att.net

For those of you who have gift certificates purchased at Maeda Sushi Restaurant, we will refund the full amount.  If you do hold onto them, it will be honored at our new business.  To get the refund, please send the gift certificate to Maeda Sushi Restaurant, 530 Bushy Hill Rd, Simsbury, CT 06070.  Make sure there is a return address with your name so we can send you a check.  If you have gift certificate issued by Maeda Sushi Restaurant as a charity or donation, please call the restaurant (860) 651-4100.  We will update all the information via this website and via e-mail if and when our address and phone number changes.  Again, if you like to be on our mailing list, please write to maedasushi@att.net

Thank you so much.  We hope to see you soon.

Warm wishes and happy dining,

Dear Valued Customers,

Ever crave Maeda Sushi but can’t make it to the restaurant?
Complaining there is no food served on your flights, and nothing decent to eat at the airport?

We are improving these conditions.

Maeda Sushi quality at supermarkets and the airport!

Maeda Sushi quality at supermarkets and the airport!

Sushi rolls from Maeda Sushi are now available at several supermarkets. They are also at kiosks and food court at Bradley International Airport. Complete with new packaging (please check out the octopus logo nicknamed “Homertako” by artist Lynita Shimizu), our California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon-Avocado Roll, and Avocado-Cucumber Roll are sold at:

Bradley International Airport: Main Street kiosk, food court, and Locks Landing  lounge (daily)
Kane’s Market (Friday & Saturday)
Geissler’s Supermarkets – Granby (daily)
Fitzgerald’s Fine Foods (daily starting Friday, May 22nd)

Our customers know we care deeply about quality. They are not supermarket sushi, they are Maeda Sushi. It’s the same rolls we serve at the restaurant. I personally deliver them daily, and anything left from the night before is thrown out. You will only get the freshest sushi, with no gimmicks on the “Best By” date.

Enjoy!

Japan and the U.S. – The Most Important Bilateral Relationship

Thursday, May 21st, 6:00 PM

The Chairman of Hartford Insurance K.K. (ハートフォード生命), also an Honorary Consul General of Japan to the U.S., Gregory Boyko will present “Japan and the U.S. – The Most Important Bilateral Relationship,” at Maeda Sushi.  Mr. Boyko will speak about range of topics including historical and current events, and his personal experience in Japan – some of which has been chronicled in his monthly column on the Japanese business daily Nikkei Shinbun.  Maeda Sushi Restaurant will then serve up a special course dinner designed for this occasion.

Maeda Sushi is always trying to be a place where our cultures meet, through our cuisine, and sometimes through special events.  This time, it will take an academic turn, featuring someone who truly connects the U.S. and Japan, or Connecticut and Japan, both culturally and in business.  Mr. Boyko started and ran the Japan operation of The Hartford as the CEO of Hartford Insurance K.K. until recent retirement from The Hartford in the U.S.  We are honored to have such a distinguished businessman with immense knowledge and interest in Japanese culture as our guest in this still new series.

Please RSVP; seating is limited.
